The average woman will shave just under 8000 times in her lifetime! This is a figure that has been cited in numerous surveys, but even if it was just half the amount, that’s still an awful lot of time spent shaving. Just think of all the other things you could be doing instead! Wouldn’t you like to find a way to massively reduce the amount of hair you produce, so you can free up your time to spend it more productively? Laser hair removal is a very effective method of hair removal. It involves using a laser to damage the hair follicles through heating them, so that they can no longer produce hairs and in doing so, it will provide you with permanent hair reduction. You could potentially reduce your hair regrowth by up to 80%.
Laser hair removal for PCOS
A side effect of having a hormonal imbalance is becoming increasingly hirsute. As society views this as being unfeminine, you may feel very self conscious about your thick hair growth. Laser hair removal is ideal for providing relief from this situation. It’s a great way of removing a lot of hair at once, but without causing stubble rash, risking missing a patch, or having to suffer the pain of waxing. This treatment will remove the worry of unsightly hair permanently.
What happens during the laser hair removal process
You’ll come into our treatment room and a cool gel will be applied to the area where the laser treatment will be targeted. You and your practitioner will protect your eyes with safety goggles and the most you’ll feel is a twanging sensation on your skin of the treatment area. It’ll be similar to the sensation of being twanged by an elastic band.
Afterwards, you’ll have a soothing gel applied and there may be a little redness. This will settle down quickly. Then you’ll be asked when you’d like your next appointment. The effectiveness of the treatment and how many sessions you’ll need will rely on your hair type. The reason why a number of sessions will be necessary is because your hair grows in phases. Not all of your hair follicles will be producing hairs at any one time. Our laser device can only stop the hair follicle of hairs in the active growing phase from functioning.
As the results are not immediate, but they will lead to permanent hair reduction, we recommend Autumn as the perfect season to start your treatment. We’ll be able to advise you on how many sessions we expect the full treatment to take when you visit us for your initial consultation. You’ll be in plenty of time to show off your smoother hair-free legs by the time the sun comes out again in Spring!
